Margaret Parmley

Kathleen Parmley of Desloge went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 19, 2014 at the age of 76. She was born February 28, 1938 at Libertyville to the late Paul and Ruby (Pirtle) Holmes. Kathleen was a stay-at-home mom to her four sons until they were older when whe went to work in the grocery business. She worked for twenty years as a store clerk at both Town and Country Supermarkets and Karsch's Supermarkets. In her spare time she loved knitting and crocheting, working word puzzles and even liked going hunting with her boys. Her family will fondly remember her good cooking, especially her biscuits. She loved spending time with her kids and her beloved grandchildren. She attended any and all of her children's sporting events that she possibly could. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Floyd Parmley of Desloge; four sons, David (Susan) Parmley of Farmington, Danny (Marcia) Parmley, Dennis Parmley, Steve (Tanya) Parmley, all of Desloge; six grandchildren, Derek, Shawna, Kelsi, Dyllon, Alexis and Nathaniel; one great-grandchild, Cheyenne; one sister, Marilyn (Phillip) Bell, of Fredericktown; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. Friends may call on Monday, April 21 at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday morning at 7 a.m. until the beginning of the service at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Kathleen's son, David officiating, assisted by Steven Stillman. Interment will follow at Libertyville Christian Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made to American Diabetes Association.
