FARMINGTON - Margaret "Jane" Blankenship, of Farmington passed away Monday, October 1, 2012 at her home at the age of 74 years. She was born May 8, 1938 at Parma, Missouri, daughter of the late Hubert and Virginia (French) Wilson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathy Wilson and Cretta Wilson. Jane grew up in Southeast Missouri, and graduated from Cape Girardeau High School. She married Billy Gene Blankenship on February 2, 1958 at Cape Girardeau, and though this union they were blessed with two children. She continued her education earning her Bachelor's degree and later her Master's degree, and chose education as her vocation, becoming a high school chemistry and physics teacher. Jane and Billy relocated from the Cape Girardeau area to St. Louis where she became the Chemistry and Physics instructor at Parkway Central High School, and from where she eventually retired. After retirement the couple moved to Farmington and have made their home there since. She was a past member of the Missouri State Teacher's Association, and since an early age she has been a faithful Christian and a member of the Assembly of God Church. She will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved her, including her husband and devoted caretaker, Billy Blankenship of Farmington, two sons, Mark Blankenship of Villa Ridge, and Scott Blankenship of Albuquerque, New Mexico, eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, brother Kenneth Wilson of St. Louis, two sisters Judy Moran of Brentwood, and Susan Wilson of St. Louis, and numerous other relatives, friends, and neighbors. The visitation for Jane will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory. Visiting hours will resume at the Cozean Chapel on Friday after 11 a.m. followed by funeral services at 1 p.m. with the Reverend Kevin Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Serinity Hospice Care.
