Margaret Ann Hughes

Margaret Ann (Smith) Hughes of Park Hills passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at her daughter's home, at the age of 65 years. She was born on September 8, 1944, in St. Louis, to the late Howard Smith and Crety Jane (Smith) Taber. She was also preceded in death by step-father, Jesse Taber, and a brother, Homer Smith, a half-brother Harold Smith, and a half-sister Alma Pyatt. Margaret was a member of the Desloge Eagles Auxiliary. She is survived by her ex-husband, the father of all her children, and very good friend, Gary Hughes, four sons, Curtis Hughes(Angie)of Terre Du Lac, Jerry Hughes (Hope) of Fredericktown, Vincent Hughes of Park Hills, and Chad Hughes of Terre Du Lac, two daughters, Cynthia Messimer (Dave) and Mary Ann Dickerson (Lindell), all of Bonne Terre, a brother, Vernon Smith of Arnold, and five sisters, Rosetta Helm of Bonne Terre, Mary McMullin of Leadwood, Shirley Rose of Arnold, Pauline Keith of Bismarck and Sadie Madry of the State of Georgia, fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. on May 10, 2010. Visitation will resume on Tuesday at 7 a.m. with a funeral service at 1 p.m. With Rev. Sid Laxton officiating. Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Bismarck.
