Marceline "Marcie" Black

October 13, 1930 — November 15, 2014

Marceline "Marcie" Black of Farmington, passed away on November 14, 2014 at the age of 84 years. She was born October 13, 1930 daughter of the late Orville Jackson and Iva Gladys Claywell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Donald Eugene "Tubby" Black in 2013 and an infant daughter, Barbara Ann Black. Marcie will be remembered for being a devoted daughter, mother and wife who always put her family's needs first. She was a generous person who enjoyed sending many greeting cards to friends and family. Her family will fondly remember her wonderful potato salad, as well as her cornbread dressing. Marcie was an avid animal lover who especially liked cats. Survivors include two daughters, Susie Black and Mary Kay (Mrs. John) Sherrill, both of Farmington; two granddaughters, Christa Marceline (Mrs. Robert "BJ") Tinsley and Olivia Kathryn Sherrill; two great-grandsons, Cole E. and Tanner N. Tinsley; one sister, Mary Lou Flanery of Phoenix, AZ; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Friends may call on Wednesday, November 19 from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel. The Funeral Service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel. Interment will follow at Parkview Cemetery. The family reqeusts that memorial donations be made to Farmington Pet Adoption Center.
