FARMINGTON – Amie Lucille “Lucy” Hermann, of Farmington, MO, passed away with her beloved husband by her side on Tuesday November 5, 2024. Lucy was born on June 7, 1939, to Robert L. and Vernie Mae (Hodge) Jordan of Monterey, Missouri.
Lucy was a woman ahead of her time and knew what she wanted out of life. In high school she was double promoted and graduated early, which allowed her to move to the city where she met her husband of 66 years Thomas H. Hermann. Together they raised four children, and she worked several jobs such as a legal secretary, property manager, a business owner, and was the only person to keep Tom in line.
She was smart, classic, and timeless. She loved the finer things in life, always dressed well, and touted the benefits of a good facial moisturizer (It’s true! She’d want it in writing that she hardly had any wrinkles and always looked younger than she was!) Christmas was her favorite time of the year, and as she got older, she started decorating sooner, until she left her Christmas tree up year-round. She always thought the tree could use another strand or two, of lights. Gift giving and shopping was her love language, and she hunted for the perfect gift for everyone all year long. She made sure that the people in her life felt loved and she was loved immensely. Lucy will be dearly missed.
Lucy was preceded in death by her son Steven T. Hermann. She is survived by her husband, Thomas H. Hermann, daughters, Janice L. Kalz, Michelle R. Hermann, and Lori A. McDermott, sons-in-law, Richard A. Kalz and Craig McDermott, grandchildren, Kristen M. Kalz, Kevin M. Kalz, Micheal McDermott, and Edward (Quinn) Henneberry, great-grandchild, Jackson M. Kalz, brother, Harold E. (Edna M.) Jordan, and her dog, Lady.
