Lowell "Tony" Anthony Botkin

FARMINGTON Lowell Anthony "Tony" Botkin of Farmington passed away surrounded by his family on January 18, 2018 at his home at the age of 74. He was born in Ironton, Missouri to the late Lowell George Botkin and Choral Antonia (Hunter) Botkin.

Tony grew up in the Centerville area before moving to Farmington to begin his Freshman year at Farmington High School where he graduated in 1961. He went on to attend Flat River Junior College for a couple of years before he ventured to California where he went to school and worked. He returned to the Farmington area in 1964 where he married the love of his life, Margie Rickus at the First Baptist Church of Farmington. Upon his return he joined the family business, Botkin Lumber Company, where he remained until his retirement. Tony was an avid gardner who enjoyed having two gardens every summer, one at home and one at the family cabin on the Black River. He was known to be a very good cook who enjoyed canning his garden produce. He was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Farmington.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Margie; two sons, Lowell Anthony Botkin II and his wife, Kari and Nathan Hunter Botkin and his wife, Robin; three granddaughters, Ashley Bartley, Baylee Botkin and Allie Botkin; one great granddaughter, Bristol Asher; a sister, Marilyn Holmes and husband, Barry; special friend, Kim Hunt; nieces, nephews and extended family.

Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Monday, January 22, 2018 from 5 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday morning beginning at 7 a.m. until the service at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel. Interment will follow at Copenhagen Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the First Baptist Church of Farmington, Building Fund.
