Gene Williams, of Farmington, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the age of 81. He was born December 14, 1933 to the late Otto and Bertha Mae (Burns) Williams. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Williams in 2010; a son, Thomas Williams in 2014; and two sisters, Leona Cook and Oma Larkin. At a very young age Gene's family moved to a farm at Ruble, Missouri where he spent most of his childhood. During his teen years he moved to St. Louis and began working at American Can Company. After thirty years he retired and returned to Patterson, Missouri where a farm was purchased. An avid outdoorsman, Gene enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and the farm life. In his spare time he was an avid Cardinal Baseball fan. Many will remember Gene for being a frequent visitor to area hospital patients who he did not even know. Survivors include his children, Lowell Gene (Diane) Williams, Jr., Tina Marie (Dave) Malone, Bruce Lee Williams and Diana Sue (Chuck) Valle; fourteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and numerous other extended family members.
