STE. GENEVIEVE-Louis Henry Thebeau, of Ste. Genevieve, formerly of Coffman, passed away, Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at the Ste. Genevieve Care Center at the age of 91 years. He was born October 25, 1921 at Richwoods, son of the late Edward and Pearl (Nevels) Thebeau. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Letha (Kent) Thebeau on October 6, 2006, a brother Sam Thebeau, and a daughter-in-law Judy (Henson) Thebeau. Louis honorably served his country in the Army during World War II as a teletype operator. On November 16, 1945 he and Letha were married at St. Louis. They made their home in St. Louis, where Louis worked as a transportation supervisor for the public school system. During the early years of their marriage, Louis and Letha were foster parents to numerous children. The couple moved to Coffman in 1968 where Louis engaged in farming in addition to his employment until declining health forced him to retire. He is survived by two children, Steven B. Thebeau of French Village, and Cynthia J. Thebeau (and Anthony G. Nelson) of Doe Run; two granddaughters, Melinda D. Thebeau (and Lester Willis) of Farmington, and Whitney N. Thebeau of Farmington; 3 great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Stephen, and Destiny of Farmington, and a host of other relatives and friends. Friends may call on Friday, December 14, 2012 at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory from 4-8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday after 7 a.m. and continue until the time of the funeral at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel. Burial with full military honors will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens. Memorials if desired may be made to the Ste. Genevieve Care Center Benevolence Fund.
