Louil "Lola" Bloom

Louil Lillian Bloom of Farmington passed away on November 22, 2006, at Presbyterian Manor at the age of 95 years. She was born on March 12, 1911, at Bardley, MO, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Cora (Baker) Woodring. She was also preceded in death by six brothers, Willard, James, Clyde, Calvin, Clarence, and David, by a sister, Blanche, and a grandson, Mark Santoyo. Mrs. Bloom owned and operated the Casino Roller Rink in Farmington for 50 years. She also owned and operated a restaurant next to the roller rink for many years. She was later a cook on a tug boat on the Mississippi and Missouri rivers for a number of years. She was a member of the National Maritime Union. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Farmington. She was a 50-year charter member of the Pythian Sisters in Farmington. In 1966 she served as State Grand Chief of that organization. She was also a 50-year member of Eastern Star at Farmington, where she served as Worthy Matron. She is survived by a daughter, Darlene Bloom Collier of Terre Du Lac, and two grand-daughters, Debra Femmer of Farmington, and Terrie Lassiter of Lewisville, TX, five great grandchildren, Shelby Ingle of Dayton, OH, Corey Pollitte of OFallon, MO Steven Hardin, Kristin Wynne, and Danielle Lassiter, all of Lewisville, TX and four great grandchildren, Rachel and Caleb Ingle, Deron Santoyo, and Angelina Lassiter. Also surviving are two sisters, Roberta Elmore of Springfield, MO and Marion Hawk of Ste. Genevieve. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 24. Visitation will resume at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday with a funeral service at 2 p.m. with Evangelist Bernie Crum officiating. Burial will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be directed to the National Kidney Foundation.
