FARMINGTON Lorri Denise Burgess-Elser of Farmington passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Mercy Jefferson Hospital in Festus at the age of 58 years. She was born on November 11, 1958 in St. Louis. She was the daughter of the late Fred E. & Shirley M. (Wells) Badgley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Jeffrey Eugene Burgess in 2009.
Lorri was a faithful member of Farmington First Freewill Baptist Church where she served by leading the Nursing Home Ministry at Community Manor. Prior to her membership in Farmington she was a long-time member of Elvins Baptist Church in Park Hills where she served as a Sunday School Teacher. Lorri was a devout Christian and enjoyed studying her Bible and spending time in prayer. She was employed as the Cafeteria Supervisor by the Central R-III School District in Park Hills. In her spare time she enjoyed tending her flower gardens, riding the motorcycle with Chuck, and absolutely loved spending time with her grandsons.
She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her, including her husband Charles E. "Chuck" Elser of Farmington, daughters, Lindsey (& Richard) Waggoner of French Village and Leslie (& Keith) Huff of Warrenton, two grandsons Miles and Vander, step-daughters Christa (& Dan) Chapman of Desloge and Elizabeth (& Joseph) Cornelison of Dudley, step-grandchildren Noah, Samuel, Alex and Paisyn; two sisters Diana (& Cliff) Manlove of Perryville and Victoria (& David) Sundhausen of Park Hills and a half-sister Mary Shaw of the State of Arizona. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory. Visitation will resume on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Farmington First Free Will Baptist Church followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Roger Hogan officiating. Interment will be at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
