Lorraine Maxine Barnes of Farmington passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 29, 2012, at the age of 66. She was born on May 27, 1946. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis Thomure and Fannie (DeWeese) Thomure, a sister, Joy Lee Johnson and two brothers, Herbert and Phillip Thomure. Lorraine was a life-long resident of the Farmington area having grown up in Ste. Genevieve County. She was employed for approximately thirty years with the Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center and retired from there in 2002. Lorraine enjoyed crocheting and making jewelry. She was also an avid fan of shopping from home. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her kids and grandkids. Lorraine is survived by her three beloved sons, Larry Barnes and wife, Rebecca of High Ridge, Tim Barnes and wife, Christy of Farmington and Rickey Barnes and wife, Denise of Columbia; seven grandchildren, Aaron Barnes, Andrew Barnes, Molly Barnes, Kyle Barnes, Brittany (Coleman) Barnes, Alexis Clark and Austin Clark; two great-grandchildren, Hayley Barnes and Austin Barnes; her twin sister, Laura (Loretta) Bowyer, a brother, Edward Thomure and wife, Bessie, all of Farmington, a sister, Elizabeth Meuse of Little Rock, AR; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Thursday, November 1 from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume Friday morning beginning at 7 a.m. until the funeral service at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill United Baptist Church Cemetery in Sainte Genevieve. Memorials may be made to the First Church of God in Farmington.
