Loren M. Elders

Loren M. Elders of Farmington passed away August 23, 2008 at his residence at the age of 78 years. He was born on August 10, 1930, in St. Louis, son of the late Luther and Yulas (Pollard) Elders. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and a grandson, Joshua Smock. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Doe Run. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Charlene, 3 sons: Richard (Paula) Ballew of Madison, IL, Charles (Karen) Smith of Festus, and Christopher (Susan) Smith of Arley, AL, 3 daughters, Charlotte Smock and fianc Ernie Brooks of St. Louis, Clarissa (Alex) Coleman of Crystal City, and Robin (Jeff) Albach of St. Louis, 1 sister, Wanda (Bob) Creasy of OFallon, 4 brothers, John (Margie) Elders of DeSoto, Jake (Janice) Elders of Corning, AR, Paul (Judy) Elders of Scott City, and Don (Judy) Elders of Granite City, a sister-in-law, Judy Elders of Imperial, and a special nephew, Warren Elders of Dittmer. A host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive. Friends may call on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 from 4-9 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday at 9 a.m. with funeral services following at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Keith Huffman, assisted by Chaplain Jacob Pollard. Burial will follow at Williams Cemetery in Corning, AR. Memorials may be made to Safe Harbor Hospice.
