Lily Dell Westover

Lily Dell Westover of Farmington passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2012, at the age of 90. She was born on March 12, 1922, at Fredericktown daughter of the late Hiram Dell Watts and Sarah Pearl (Graham) Watts-Tinnin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Greg Westover in 1988; and a half-sister, Dorothy May Watts. Also preceding her in death were two special cousins, Mary Louise Lees and Don Graham. A life long resident of the Park Hills and Farmington area, Lily Dell graduated from Flat River High School in 1941. She went on to graduate from Southeast Missouri State University with a BS degree in Elementary Education. She taught third and fifth grade students in the Leadwood and Central School Districts for over thirty-five years. Lily Dell was active in the community belonging to The Book Club and she was past president of PEO Sisterhood and Federated Monday Club. Additionally, she was a faithful member of the Presbyterian Church of Farmington as well as a former board member for the Presbyterian Manor. In her retirement Lily Dell loved traveling, both in the United States and abroad. Survivors include her daughter, Sarah Jane Westover of Wildwood, MO; two special cousins, Candice Graham Kelner of Cape Coral, FL and Van Lees of St. Peters, MO; and many dear friends. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Sunday, October 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Monday morning at 10 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Farmington with The Reverend Paul Bembower officiating. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington. Memorials may be made to the BJC Hospice Foundation or Sunrise Senior Living of Chesterfield, her caregivers.
