FARMINGTON - Lillie May Baker, of Farmington passed away August 28, 2012 at the St. Francois Manor at the age of 85 years. She was born April 4, 1927 at Fagus, daughter of the late Ernest and Bertha (Clubb) Bennett. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Marion M. Baker, son Stephen Ray Baker, infant granddaughter Danielle Jones, two brothers Ira Bennett and Burnell Bennett, and a sister Rachel Stratton. Lillie grew up in the Greenville area and later moved first to St. Louis and then to Bonne Terre with her husband Marion where they raised their family. Lillie was a Christian woman, and was a loving and caring mother. She had a great love of the outdoors and enjoyed gardening, riding bicycles, and especially hunting for mushrooms. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her including her children, Frieda and husband Olof McTaggart, of Birch Tree, Lawrence and wife Paula Baker, of Farmington, Carroll and husband Danny Sasser, of Aiken, South Carolina, Delores and husband Allen Rehmer, of Cole Camp, and Bruce and wife Elizabeth Baker, of Lawton, OK, five brothers, Ernest Bennett Jr., Willis Bennett, Elijah Bennett, Burnett Bennett, and Paul Ray Bennett, two sisters, Rosemary Riley and Bernice Jessop, thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and many other relatives, friends and neighbors. Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Thursday August 30, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday at 7a.m. with a funeral service at the Cozean Chapel at 10 a.m. With the Reverend Gary Parker officiating. Burial will be at the St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial donations to Mental Health America or the American Diabetes Association.
