Letha Jean Thebeau

Letha Jean Kent Thebeau, age 82, of Coffman passed away on October 6, 2006 at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital after a 5 year battle with Alzheimer and Dementia. She was able to remain at home with the care of her husband and special friend, Penny Boyd, until her last 2 weeks. She was born on January 5, 1924, in Bland, MO, the daughter of the late Martin David and Effie Susie Ann (Williams) Kent. She married her loving, devoted husband, Louis H. Thebeau, on November 16, 1946. She and Louis were foster parents to numerous children during their early years of marriage. She is survived by her loving husband, Louis H. Thebeau, one son, Steven B. (and Judy) Thebeau of French Village, one daughter, Cynthia J. Thebeau (and Anthony G. Nelson) of Doe Run, two granddaughters, Melinda D. Thebeau of Bonne Terre and Whitney N. Thebeau of Farmington, three great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Stephen and Destiny of Farmington, four of twelve siblings, John (and Pat) Kent and Georgie Denton, all of Baltimore, MD, Liz Kent of Lingle, WY and Winifred Dutch (and Herbie) Pincombe of Chicago, IL, one sister-in-law, Helen Thebeau of DeSoto, numerous nieces and nephews around the U. S. , and one special care giver, Penny Boyd of Ste. Genevieve. Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. on Monday, October 9, 2006. Visitation will resume on Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. with a funeral service at 11 a.m. with John Platte and Esther Schraw officiating. Burial will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens. At the conclusion of services, a potluck luncheon will be held at the old Pine Log Baptist Church on New Church Road in Coffman. Bring a dish and join the family for fellowship.
