Lester Plummer of Knob Lick passed away in his home on Thursday, August 19, 2010, at the age of 100 years and 5 months. He was born on March 19, 1910, in Madison County, the son of the late James Frederick and Susan (Bible) Plummer. In addition to his parents, Lester was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Mr. Plummer was well known throughout both St. Francois and Madison Counties having worked at the Fredericktown Lead Mines for a number of years, later building and selling homes in the Farmington area. He enjoyed raising Charolais cattle and Blue Mountain Shepherd dogs on his farm. He was a much respected neighbor and a friend to many people. Mr. Plummer was a member of the Libertyville Masonic Lodge No. 234 and received his sixty year membership pen at a ceremony at his home in June, 2010. He is survived by his devoted wife of 81 years, Evelyn (Martin) Plummer, two loving sons and daughters-in-law, James and Delores Plummer and Darrell and Rosie Plummer all of Farmington. He is also survived by five cherished grandchildren, Kim Krull of Kirkwood, Melody Driskill of Arkansas, Randy Plummer of Branson, Melinda Marquart of Wildwood and Scott Plummer of Farmington as well as seven great-grandchildren. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 21. Visitation will resume Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Pastor Donn Adamson officiating. Interment will be at Knob Lick Cemetery.
