STE. GENEVIEVE -Lester Lee Snider, of Ste. Genevieve, passed away on February 26, 2021 at E.W. and Lucille Cates House in Ocala, Florida at the age of 78. He was born on May 13, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri to the late James and Loretta (Horn) Snider. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Emily) Snider and two sons, Billy Snider and Jimmy Snider. Lester proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of the Genevieve Baptist Church and a former member of the Elks Lodge #1765 of Farmington and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Auxiliary #3350 of Desloge and Farmington. He enjoyed gambling and the outdoors especially hunting, fishing, and camping and was a master barbecuer. He was awesome with children and loved spending time with his family especially during the holidays and at family reunions. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Lester is survived by his children, Leanne (Dave Bourland) Jones of Ft. Walton, FL, Kim (Victor) Maggi of Woodsboro, MD, Sherry Bayless of Silver Springs, FL, Trudy Ervin of Advance, MO, Patty Hull of Farmington, MO, Timmy Buttrey of Fredericktown, MO, Scott Buttrey of Branson, MO, Kathy Brown of Advance, MO, Billie (Bucky) Benson of Farmington, MO, Dennis "Bub" (Janet) Portell of Farmington, MO, and Christy (Joe) Sturgeon of Fenton, MO, his grandchildren who he helped raise, Cody Snider, Alex Snider and Bumper Snider, along with many other special grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, great great great grandchildren; his sisters and brothers, Mary Ann Snider, Joleene (John) Henson, James (Linda) Snider, Jr. William (Anne) Snider and Edward (Donna) Snider; as well as nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to his niece, Marie Ramirez, who was his caretaker for the past several years. Lester will be instate on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 from 5:00-8:00pm at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Visitation will resume on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 7:00am until time of service at 10:00am in the Cozean Chapel officiated by Pastor Fred Killian.
