Les E. Carpenter

FARMINGTON Les Carpenter, of Farmington, passed away February 21, 2021 at Mercy Jefferson in Festus, Missouri at the age of 77. He was born April 16, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Bill Carpenter and Vida Imogene (Johns) Paul. Les grew up in Berkeley, Missouri where he graduated from high school. He went on to Tarkio College where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems. He retired from Boeing Corporation after a 36 year career there as an NC Programmer. Several years after retirement Les and his wife, Nikky, moved to Farmington. He was a man of many talents, including making knives, leather working and archery. Fishing and hunting were also two of his favorite pastimes. Taking the grandchildren on various outdoor adventures was one of his greatest joys. He will be fondly remembered as a wonderful father and grandfather. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Nikky (Ballew) Carpenter; three children, Bryan Carpenter, Craig (Katie) Carpenter and Denise (Brian) Zastrow; five grandchildren, Cayla (Adam) Henderson, Teagan Carpenter, Ryan Carpenter, Robert Zastrow and Cheyenne Carpenter; one great grandson, Ashton Henderson; two sisters, Jackie (Butch) Menke and Judy (Jim) Cook and brothers-in-law, Gene (Sharon) Ballew and Jack (Charlotte) Ballew. Friends and family may call Saturday, February 27, 2021 beginning at Cozean Memorial Chapel at 1 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Reverend Donn Adamson officiating.
