Leora Louise Pritchett

June 8, 1936 — April 12, 2012

Leora Louise Pritchett of Doe Run passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Parkland Health Center, at the age of 75 years. She was born on June 8, 1936, in Sainte Genevieve County, daughter of the late Luther and Effie (Hoehn) Woods. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Lucille Wright. "Weezie" as most knew her grew up in the Sprott area and was a member of the Little Vine Baptist Church. Her first job was working in the Greyhound Bus Station in Flat River where she met and married her husband Jack Pritchett. They raised a family on a farm just outside Doe Run where in addition to helping run the farm she was a homemaker and a busy mother of three. In her later years Weezie worked at the State Hospital as a housekeeper before retiring several years ago. She enjoyed crocheting and was very accomplished at it. Playing Bingo was another favorite pastime. Her family was very important to her and spending time with them was precious to her. Survivors include her sons, Mike Pritchett and special friend Connie of the Farmington area; Steven Pritchett and special friend Patty of Irondale; and her daughter, Julia Pritchett of Arcadia; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Woods and wife Diane, of New Madrid and Richard Woods and wife Sandy of St. Louis; and a sister, LaVerne Morris of Desloge. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews and many friends. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Friday, April 13 from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume Saturday morning from 7 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with the Rev.
