Leonora R. Adamson

PARK HILLS - Leonora Rose Adamson of Park Hills, Missouri passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at NHC Health Care Center in Desloge at the age of 97. She was born January 7, 1920 to the late Rev. William and Leita (Dunbar) Ayotte. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Rev. Ralph F. Adamson, three brothers, Robert, Leroy and Elwood Ayotte, and two sisters, Velma Couch and Marjorie Mancini.

Leonora resided at NHC in Desloge for the last seven years and was a member of the First Church of God in Doe Run. Over the many years of her life, including 53 as a pastor's and chaplain's wife, she lived in 13 different states as well as Germany, Canada and Grand Cayman. She was active in the church as a Children's Church leader, director of church singing and bell choirs, and was always involved in the Women's Missionary Society. Her hobbies included crocheting, sewing, rockhounding and lapidary, gardening and floral work. She attended Anderson University when it was a college and played "hindcatcher" for the college's softball team.

Leonora is survived by four daughters, Karen Sands and husband Gene of Soldotna, AK, Margaret Anderson of Fresno, CA, Lenore McCutcheon and husband Larry of Ione, CA, and Willette Arthur and husband Randall of Rolla, MO; one son, Donn Adamson and wife Gaylene of Park Hills, MO. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother Bill Ayotte and wife Zelda of Caldwell, ID, and one sister Lois Myers of Cascade, MT.

A memorial service for Leonora Adamson will be held at the First Church of God in Doe Run, Hwy 221 and Vandergriff Road, on Sunday, April 2 at 2 p.m. Internment will take place at Middleton Cemetery, Middleton, Idaho at a later date.
