Leonard Wesley Mayberry of Farmington passed away at his home on February 16, 2007, at the age of 73 years. He was born on June 30, 1933, at Elvins, the son of the late Leonard and Blanche (Boswell) Mayberry. Mr. Mayberry was a member of the First Baptist Church of Farmington. He served his country in the U. S. Army in the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW Post #5896 and the American Legion Post #416. He enjoyed outdoor activities, farming and was known as a farmer extraordinaire. He was active as a baseball coach in the late 1960s and 1970s for the Farmington Khoury League. He enjoyed spending time with young people and cherished times spent with his family. He is survived by his wife, Mary Mayberry, two sons, Jeffrey Mayberry (Cherie) of Hillsboro, and Steven Mayberry of Farmington, two sisters, Ellen June Harter of Kirkwood, and Myra Gaines of Jefferson City, four grandchildren, Eric Bradley, Danielle Nicole, Steven Leonard and Jesse Carl, and special friends, James and Barbara Murray, and Howard and Linda Davis. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel from 4:30 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, February 18, 2007. A VFW Service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday. Visitation will resume at 7:30 a.m. on Monday. A funeral service will be held at the Cozean Chapel on Monday at 2 p.m. with Dr. William Miller officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Doe Run Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church of Farmington.
