Lena Hacker

Lena Lorene Hacker of Farmington passed away at her residence on September 30, 2006 at the age of 81 years. She was born on November 20, 1924, to the late William and Mary (Hampton) Gilmer. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbert and William Gilmer, two sisters, Barbara Gilmer and Rosanelle Johnson, a nephew, a great nephew, and a great niece. Lena married Edward W. Hacker at St. Louis in 1948; they had two sons together, Steven Hacker of Ste. Genevieve County and Douglas Hacker of Fenton. Edward passed away in 1955. Lena is also survived by a step-daughter, Diana Green of Ste. Genevieve County, a sister, Agnes Goodson of Annapolis, nine nieces, five nephews, and a host of great nieces and nephews. Lena was an active member of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church where she was a part of the choir and served as a past custodian. She was a voting poll volunteer and loved crossword puzzles, soap operas and game shows. Lena had a great love for the outdoors, she enjoyed gardening and fishing. She worked at Biltbest Window Factory in Ste. Genevieve for 24 years. She will be dearly missed by her numerous friends and church family at Chestnut Ridge. The Family will receive friends at the Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, October 3, 2006. Visitation will resume Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Eugene Alcorn officiating. Burial will follow at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
