Leatrice "Lee" Gloria Johnson

April 24, 1928 — August 18, 2024

FARMINGTON – Gloria Leatrice “Lee” Johnson took her final journey and went home to the arms of Jesus on August 18, 2024, at the Arbors at Maplebrook at the age of 96. She was born in Brainerd, Minnesota on April 24, 1928, to the late Ray L. Hall and Bertha Belle (Vogt) Hall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Johnson in 1996; her stepfather, Al Carter; brother, James (June) Hall; a niece, Suzanne, and nephews, Bobby, Mike, and Pat; and her brothers-In-law, Frank and Richard.


As most knew her, Lee grew up in the Brainerd, Minnesota area and after her marriage to Marvin, they moved to Minneapolis for several years before returning to Brainerd. It was there that she worked as a cook for the State Hospital. Marvin and Lee enjoyed building homes and after living in them for a while, then selling and building another. They also enjoyed wintering in Spring, Texas in their travel trailer for many winters. Lee was an accomplished quilter and seamstress having made numerous quilts. After Marvin passed away, Lee moved to Anoka, Minnesota where she lived in assisted living at the Presbyterian Home. She was a woman of faith who enjoyed bible study, playing the piano, and singing.


Survivors include three sisters, Barbara Etnier, Beverly Marks, and Yvonne Gibson; one brother, Gary (Vicki) Hall; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
