Lawrence 'Larry' Andrew Redmond

FARMINGTON Lawrence "Larry" Andrew Redmond, of Farmington, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 77. He was born on December 1, 1944, in Ste. Genevieve County, Missouri, to the late Harry Bernard "H.B." and Alice "Dolly" (Alvey) Redmond. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Eugene Redmond, Martin Redmond, Marie Nelsen, Gladys Gegg, Lucille Richard, and Harry E. Redmond. Larry is survived by his daughter, Lara (Jabari Allen) Redmond of St. Louis, his former spouse, Cathy Abell of Arnold, his siblings, Bernard (Anna) Redmond of Farmington, Pauline Wampler of Park Hills, Francis Redmond of Independence, Thomas Redmond of Jackson, Dorothy Regier of Forest Grove, OR, and Margaret (Bill Peters) Cook of Farmington, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. Larry was a 1962 graduate of St. Joseph High School and proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He earned an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Missouri and later completed a Masters of Business Administration at UMKC. He retired from AT & T after 30 years as an IT Specialist and Project Manager. Larry was a member of the Farmington VFW and was recently elected Senior Vice Commander. He enjoyed spending time on his farm and bringing new life to salvage. He was a fixer of many things, a lifelong learner and will be remembered for his quick wit. Larry will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022, from 5:00pm until time of service at 7:00pm with full military honors.
