Laverne Marie Soden

FARMINGTON Laverne Marie Soden of Farmington passed away May 13, 2018 at Mercy Jefferson at the age of 88. She was born July 1, 1929 in Kinsey, Missouri to the late Edward and Frances (Herzog) Roth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark Soden, sister, Berneda (the late Fred) Fisher and a brother Donald (the late Jean) Roth.

Laverne's great grandparents arrived in Kinsey, MO after a 7 year journey from Germany. She was a member of the first family of Ste. Genevieve, the DeGuire dit LaRose family. Laverne operated Check On the Spot with her son, Dale. She loved her flowers and her koi fish. She adored her great grandbabies.

Survivors include her children, Dale Soden of Farmington, Jeffery (Cheryl) Soden of French Village, and Judy (John) Pettus of Bonne Terre, grandchildren, Johnny (Mandy) Pettus, Julie Carroll, Joanie (Mark) Smith, Roseanna (Josh) Chilton, Krystal (Johnny) Taylor, and Rusty (Leesa) Soden, great grandchildren, Dylan, Chase, Landon, Nora, Jedediah, Levi, Colton, Braydon, Bailey, Ella Rose and Nevaeh, brother: Melvin (Jessie) Roth of Kinsey, many nieces, nephews, her granddog, Sissy and many friends.

Friends may call on Wednesday, May 16, at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5-8 p.m. Visitation will resume at 7 a.m. on Thursday morning until time of service at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel.
