Larry Dale Benscoter, Sr.

WORTHAM - Larry Dale Benscoter, Sr., 55, passed away November 6, 2020 at his home in Wortham. He was born in Clayton, Missouri on February 28, 1965 to the late Frank LeRoy Benscoter, Jr. and Anna Belle (Gentry) Benscoter. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Frank LeRoy Benscoter, III and best-friend brothers, Darryll Abney and Robert Noll. Larry loved his family with all his heart and was happiest when spending time with them camping out and barbequing. He became a truck driver and drove over the road until his health forced him to retire. Larry was a naturally skilled mechanic who enjoyed working on his truck. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Joann Marie (Stinnett) Benscoter; children, Victoria (Daniel) Isgrig of Springfield, Missouri, Tonya (Peter) Godat and Deanna Benscoter, all of Park Hills and Larry Jr. (Gabrielle) Benscoter of Poplar Bluff; eleven grandchildren, Daniel and Zoe Isgrig, Elizabeth and Devin Godat, Adam and Audrey Ramsey and Brenden and Marissa Benscoter, Larry III, Austin and Jax Benscoter; one brother, Johnny (Dawn) Noll of Doe Run; his adopted mom, Linda Moore Noll Turner of Doe Run; three sisters, Janice and Loretta Benscoter and Angel Benscoter, of Park Hills. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Cozean Memorial Chapel beginning at 9 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Cemetery. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, those in attendance will be asked to wear facial masks and to socially distance.
