Lansing Ryan

August 1, 1918 — January 17, 2007

Robert Lansing Ryan of Farmington passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 200, at the age of 88 years. He was born on August 1, 1918, in Ste Genevieve County, the son of the late James and Amanda (Mudd) Ryan. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Florence Gustafson, and a brother, Ralph Ryan. Mr. Ryan was one of the oldest members of Memorial United Methodist Church. He served his country in the U. S. Army as an MP and played baseball on the Rocky Mountain Arsenal while serving. He was a member of the American Legion Post 416. Mr. Ryan enjoyed fishing at Clear Water Lake and was an avid sports fan. He also loved to garden, especially tomatoes. He is survived by a wife, Pearl (McGraw) Ryan, two sons, Terry Ryan and wife Lucia of Columbia, IL, Charlie Ryan of Farmington, a daughter, Gay Nell Ryan and husband Tom Wood of Farmington, four grandchildren, Polly and husband Robert McNellis of Olatha, KS, Robert Ryan and wife Susan of Kansas City, MO, Brooke Wiley and Lance Ryan, both of Farmington, five great-grandchildren, George, Ana, and Luke Ryan, and Ryan and Megan MCNellis. Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2007. Visitation will resume Saturday from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. with a funeral service to be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Cozean Chapel with the Rev. Rick Broadway officiating. Memorials may be directed to Safe Harbor Hospice.
