Kimberly Ann Allen

April 27, 1978 — May 15, 2016

FARMINGTON Kimberly Ann (Showmaker) Allen of Farmington passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016 at her residence at the age of 38 years. She was born on April 27, 1978 at Farmington.

Kim grew up in Bonne Terre and attended North County schools from where she graduated in 1996. She went on to attend Central Methodist University and the University of Missouri St. Louis earning her Master's and Specialist degrees in Education. She was employed for several years with the Festus School District as a Middle School English Teacher and most recently served as the Interim Principal of St. Paul Lutheran School in Farmington. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Farmington and an active member of the Farmington community.

Kim was a beautiful blond haired curly headed child who grew into a beautiful, strong, intelligent, and passionate Christian woman. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her love for children and loving others led her to a career in education, but teaching was more than a job for her it was her ministry. She truly cared for each and every student which was made evident by the countless hours she spent helping them. Family meant everything to her and she spent most of her free time with them. She was blessed seven years ago with the love of her life, her husband Kenny and her pride and joy Malaina. They were the light of her life and what gave her the strength to fight the battle. Kim often said that everyday God allowed her to be with them was a blessing. Kim enjoyed visiting the beach, a love that was shared by both Kenny and Malaina. Some of their familys happiest moments together were spent at the seaside.

Kim will always be remembered for her positive attitude, compassion, generosity, and love for her friends, family and especially Christ. She was an example to everyone she met, of how to live life to the fullest and how to give God the Glory for each and every day she had. Kim was not only a mother, wife, daughter, sister, teacher and friend; she was an inspiration for anyone who truly knew her. When anyone sees an anchor they will always remember her and her love for Christ for the words she always left us with: "ANCHORED IN CHRIST ALWAYS!"

She will be loved from here to Heaven and back by all those who knew and loved her including her husband Kenneth D. Allen and their daughter Malaina K. Allen, her father Gary W. (& Janet) Showmaker of Potosi, her mother Marsha A. (Jackson) Martin of Desloge, Kenny's daughter Laura (& Dustin)Murray and their children Clara and Carter all of Farmington. Two sisters Shannon (& Rob) Strauser of Bonne Terre, and Tonya (& Darren) Sheets of Farmington, nieces and nephews: Joel Strauser, Grant Strauser, Ashlin Sheets and Braden Sheets, two sister-in-laws, Jean Allen of Farmington and Reba (& Bobby) Mell of Farmington, and numerous other relatives, dear friends and neighbors.
