FARMINGTON Kevin D. Dement, was born April 13, 1965, in Farmington, Missouri and passed from this life to the next on November 24, 2022. Kevin graduated from Farmington High School in 1983 and worked as an HVAC repairman in Holyoke, MA and Joplin, MO. In May 1995, Kevin graduated from Dallas Mortuary School licensed as a funeral director and mortician. Kevin loved his family and was proud of them, their work, and their faith. He was the primary caretaker of his mother from 2008 until 2014 after his father passed. Because he was resourceful and meticulous, friends and family called on Kevin as a handyman. He was eager to serve. Kevin was pursuing a patent for a clothes dryer modification that would bring outside air into the dryer, so his clothes smelled fresh, like they had been hung out on an old-fashioned clothesline. Attending church with friends and hosting in his home were rhythms that shaped his life. Sharon and Duane Smith were friends from Farmington Church of the Nazarene who he did life with. Kevin is preceded in death by his parents, Etta Mae and Buel Eugene Dement and his special canine companion, Petey. Those who remain are his eight siblings, brothers, Oman Eugene (Joyce) of Olathe, KS, Carl Edward (Barbara) of Fredericktown, MO, Dennis Wayne (Cindy) of Farmington, MO, Ronald Earl (Denise) of Farmington, MO, and Ricky Lee (Jamie) of Wentzville, MO; sisters, Joyce Elaine (Jim) Clement of Joplin, MO, Janet Darlene (Tim) Morgan of Farmington, MO, and Kathy Louise (Gary) Romine of Farmington, MO, 22 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and great nephews, and many friends.
