POTOSI - Kathy Ann (Wright) Conway, of Potosi, passed away on February 8, 2025, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 61 after a courageous battle with acute myeloid leukemia. She was born on February 17, 1963, in Kansas City, Missouri. 

Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Ernest Conway; her children: Carl (Nikki) Wright, Melinda "Mel" Bechtel, Douglas "DJ" James Wright Sr., and Nikki Conway; her grandchildren, Gracie Wright, Rayden Wright, Haylei Lawrence, Colton Marcelle, Shyanne Wright, and Douglas Wright Jr.; her siblings, Kimberly Brand Shell, Kristi Roberts McClenithan, and Damon Brand; her aunt and uncle who helped raise her, Linda and Roger Morris; her uncle, Carlton Johnson; her nephew who made Missouri her home again and showed her lots of love and kindness, Gary Bennett; her closest friends, Tracy Daro and Judith J. Hubrins-Norwood; and her special sign language interpreter, Mary McKay. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. 

Kathy is preceded in death by her mother, Geraline (Morris) Roberts; her brother, Mark Bennett Sr.; her nephews, Mike Bennett Jr. and Michael Bennett; her sister and best friend, Karen Bennett; and her dear friend, David "DB" Bouchard. 

Kathy was a proud graduate of the Missouri School for the Deaf. Her educational background laid the foundation for a career marked by compassion and commitment to helping others. A vibrant spirit, Kathy dedicated her life to advocating for the deaf community as a home health advocate, where she made significant contributions and fostered a sense of understanding and accessibility. Known for her talents and creativity, she enjoyed various hobbies including arts and crafts, baking, cooking, lazy days at home watching movies, and she developed a passion for medicinal cannabis. She cherished her daily macchiato from Starbucks, a small ritual that brought her joy. Above all, she treasured the moments spent with her family and her beloved husband, Ernest, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter.

Kathy will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, and unwavering spirit in her advocacy work, as well as the love she shared with her family and friends. She touched many lives, and her legacy will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of those she loved and supported. 

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Kathy will be laid to rest at Adams-Hillcrest Cemetery in Bonne Terre, Missouri.
