FARMINGTON Karen Shrum of Farmington, went to her eternal Heavenly home on Sunday, November 6, 2016 surrounded by her loving family at her home at the age of 67. She was born in Cape Girardeau on July 2, 1949 to the late Jesse and Dessa James. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Jerry and Larry James.
Karen is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Rev. Charley Shrum, a twin sister, Sharon Estes and brother-in-law, Dick Estes; two daughters, Jessica Sheckles and her husband, Matthew Sheckles and Mindy Comer and her husband, Jake Comer. Also surviving are seven grandchildren who Karen was a proud grandma to and who were the joy of her life. She loved her family and always brightened up a room with her smile and laughter.
Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 from 5 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Delassus on Wednesday at 10 a.m. officiated by Reverend Ronald Shrum. Interment will follow at Genevieve Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to First Baptist Church of Delassus or First Baptist Church of Bismarck.
