Karen Elizabeth Hill

FARMINGTON – Karen Elizabeth Hill, of Farmington, entered eternal rest on September 21, 2024, at Parkland Health Center at the age of 76. She was born on February 21, 1948, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to the late John McCollum and Ruby (Chewning) McCollum.

Karen is survived by her son, Michael Hill; her stepdaughter, Elizabeth (Fred) Rowland; her stepson, Kelly Hill; her niece, Connie Bowman; and several cousins. She was affectionately known as "Granny" by many, reflecting the warmth and kindness she shared with those around her. She had a deep affection for Yorkies and cherished the companionship of several throughout her life, finding joy and comfort in their presence.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, John McCollum and Ruby (Chewning) McCollum, and her husband, C. Gene Hill.

Karen worked as a postal worker with the United States Postal Service in Fair Dealing, Missouri, for more than 10 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed socializing, cooking, bird watching, and most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Poplar Bluff, contributing to the organization for many years and fostering a sense of community among its members.
