Karen A. King

August 22, 1958 — February 1, 2024

KNOB LICK Karen A. King, of Knob Lick, entered eternal rest on February 1, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 65. She was born on August 22, 1958, in St. Louis, Missouri, to David Arlen Lawson and the late Carolyn (Olmstead) Lawson. Karen is survived by her husband of 40 years, Edward King, her children, Tara (Bill) Gann of Stanchfield, MN and David (Trista) King of Lebanon, MO, her grandchildren, Owen Gann, Evan King, Chase Gann, and Kylan King, her father, David Arlen (Jean) Lawson of St. Charles, MO, her mother-in-law, Linda (David) Mauk of Farmington, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, her grand fur babies, and friends. Karen retired from the Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center where she served as postmaster for 20 plus years. She was the former postmaster for Knob Lick Post Office for many years. She was a lifelong Christ follower and very involved at Meadow Heights Church in Fredericktown. She was a talented piano player and formerly played at the First Baptist Church of Knob Lick. She loved Christian music especially the Casting Crowns and Zach Williams. She was a St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues fan. Karen was an avid bowler and loved the beach. She was always on the "go" and was very strong willed even till the end. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Her and Ed had an incredible marriage. They shared a true love story and were each others best friend. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Meadow Heights Church, 1138 State Highway J, Fredericktown, MO 63645 officiated by Pastor Jeremiah Dietiker. A luncheon will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Knob Lick Church of God, 6018 Highway DD, Farmington, MO 63640. Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to Meadow Heights Church.
