Junior Edward "Griff" Griffon Junior Edward "Griff" Griffon, 86, of Farmington, entered into rest on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, with his family by his side. He was born on February 17, 1927, at Marquand, MO, son of the late William Washington and Stella Angeline (Stacey) Griffon. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Esther Skaggs; two infant sisters; his sister, Audrey Kester; two brothers and their wives, Gene Griffon and wife, Irby and Webb Griffon and wife, Lois; three brothers, Don, Vernon and Harry Griffon; two nieces, Pamela Harvey and Beverly Dickey; four nephews, Kevin Galey, Keith Johnson, Paul Dickey and infant, Timothy Griffon; brothers-in-law, Edward Hedicke, Donald Hedicke and Earl Dickey; sisters-in-law, Ethelda Galey and June Clymer Dickey. "Griff" or "Ed," as he was regularly called, proudly served his country in the Pacific Theater during World War II. With a lifetime membership to the Foothills Antique Car Club, he was an antique car enthusiast, Master Mason, Deacon and a long time member of First Baptist Church of Farmington. He retired from Monsanto Research Center in Creve Coeur, Missouri. Griff will be sadly missed by all for his quiet nature and his love for his family and church. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to his special friend and caregiver April Lober, Serenity Hospice nurse, Debbie Crocker, Renee Rankin, can, and A-1 Homecare all for their loving care. Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years whom he married in Fredericktown on September 2, 1950, Lovina "Bunny" (Hedicke) Griffon; sisters-in-law, Vicky Griffon, Peggy Griffon and Mildred Griffon, Mildred "Midge" Hedicke and Ruby (Hedicke) Gavin and one brother-in-law, Jerry Galey. He also leaves behind many loving and special nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of dear friends. The family wishes to welcome friends at a celebration of his life, on Sunday, December 8, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Visitation will resume on Monday morning beginning at 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Funeral Services will follow at First Baptist Church of Farmington at 11 a.m. with Dr. William Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Marcus Memorial Cemetery in Fredericktown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to either First Baptist Church of Farmington or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
