June "Sis" Caby

TUSCUMBIA, MISSOURI – June “Sis” Caby of Tuscumbia, Missouri, entered eternal rest on Tuesday January 28, 2025, in Ironton at the age of 79 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on August 1, 1945, in Ironton, Missouri, to the late Henry and Lillian (Inman) Hartwick. She was united in marriage to James “Jim” Caby Sr. on June 29, 1974, at the Pilot Knob Baptist Church in Pilot Knob, Missouri. 

June is survived by her children, James “Jimmy” (Luna) Caby Jr. and William (Kelly) Jackson; her daughter-in-law, Angie Cunningham; her grandchildren, Joshua Jackson, Britnee (Derrick) Rosbeck, Summer Caby, Chengming Li, Britteniegh Turner, Christian Turner, and Jake Turner; and her great-grandchildren, Natalie, Cambrie, Madison, Charlie, Emma, Lilly, Willow, Hunter, Liam, Everhette, Lachlan, Rosalind, Raylan, Scarlette, and Genevieve; and several siblings, nieces, nephews, and special friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.

June was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Lillian (Inman) Hartwick; her husband, James Caby Sr; and her son, Charles Vincent Jackson. 

June and her husband had the remarkable experience of living in Alaska for two years, a time they both loved and remembered fondly. June was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tuscumbia for many years. In her spare time, she found joy in crocheting and quilting, activities that showcased her creativity and skill. She loved spending time by the river, appreciating the simple pleasures of life. Above all, she treasured the moments shared with her family, creating lasting memories and bonds that will always be cherished. Her adventurous spirit and love for life left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until the start of the funeral service at 4:00 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mark Sutton officiating.
