Joyce Yvonne Glassey

FARMINGTON - Joyce Yvonne Glassey, passed away, Sunday, June 9, 2013 at her daughter's home surrounded by family at the age of 79 years. She was born February 23, 1934 in St. Louis, daughter of the late Forrest Culvin and Almeda May (Smith) Horton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Claire Glassey, two brothers Rolland Horton and Robert Horton, two sisters Ruth Mace and Audrey Custer, and a dear nephew Michael Glassey. Joyce was a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and was a proud homemaker. She was a faithful member of the Farmington Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she was currently serving as the Church Librarian. In her spare time she enjoyed watching sports, especially Cardinal's baseball, camping, fishing and spending time with family and friends. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her including her three daughters, Lee (Jeff) Cook of Farmington, Michelle (Mike) Pfaff of St. Louis, and Terry Heberer of St. Charles, a son Dale Glassey of Arnold, two sisters, Jayne Christian of St. Louis, and Nelva Stenger of Campbell, ten grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Friday June 14, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Farmington Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Don Blum, Jr. presiding. Joyce will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Robert, at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Kinder Cemetery at Cuba, Missouri. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the American Cancer Society.
