FARMINGTON - Josette Trickey of Farmington passed away on October 17, 2020 at Evelyns House in Creve Coeur, Missouri at the age of 88. She was born in Bordeaux, France on December 20, 1931. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marie Therese Menjoulet-Lapenne; her husband, Clyde Trickey; children, Norman Ratcliff and wife, Brenda Sue, Dominique "Charlie" Ratcliff; great grandson, Trenton Lee Menjoulet; three sisters, Yvette Menjoulet, Jeannette Menjoulet and Claudine Menjoulet Mullins and her former husband, Harry E. Ratcliff. Josette worked for the City of Farmington for thirty-five years. She had a love for music and had a great sense of humor. One could often find her whistling or singing as she did her work. Josette "Meme" enjoyed her children and grandchildren. Her greatest accomplishment was when she became a naturalized American in 1975. She would boast "Je Suis un Americain" I would dare anyone to challenge this! A World War II survivor, she would tell stories of her wartime experiences, sending chills down our spines. She disliked the sound of thunder, as it reminded her of artillery shells exploding. Survivors include Josettes sister, Micheline Menjoulet Brooks of Virginia Beach VA; her children, Phlippe Menjoulet, wife Myra, Farmington, MO, Harry Ratcliff Jr., Clarksville, TN, Patrick Ratcliff, wife Patricia, of El Paso, TX, Anita Schnurbusch, Festus, MO and Michael Trickey (step son), Marquette, MI; fifteen grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Josettes services and interment will be private for family due to the Covid 19 pandemic. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Josettes name to Evelyns House at 1000 N. Mason Road, Creve Coeur, Missouri 63141. Share your condolences at cozeanfuneralhome.com.
