Joseph Schierhold

FARMINGTON Joe Schierhold, of Farmington, passed away June 7, 2016 at NHC in Desloge at the age of 70. He was born December 7, 1945 in St. Louis to the late Joseph Clarence Schierhold and Beatrice Leora (Witges) Schierhold. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Wesley Joseph Schierhold; a sister, Judith Ann Tabor and a brother-in-law, Larry Johnson.

Joe was a Vietnam veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Army. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and family man. He owned a glass installation company for many years at the Lake of the Ozarks. In his retirement Joe enjoyed being an active member of the VFW. He volunteered for many of the VFW projects and programs. He easily made friends and had a great sense of humor.

Survivors include his wife, Libby Merk-Schierhold; two daughters, Debbie and Kimberly Schierhold; two step-daughters, Jodie Hurt and Trace Rohan; six grandchildren; a sister, Janice Johnson; a brother, David (Karen) Schierhold; a special cousin, Ron Pohlman; and other extended family.

Friends and family may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Friday, June 10, 2016 from 4 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 13, at 10 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow in the afternoon at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
