FARMINGTON - On April 19, 2020 heaven gained an angel and we lost a true treasure. Joseph "Joe" Ryland Crider III entered into eternal rest in this day. He was born to Vynetta Virginia Crider and Joseph Rawlin Crider Jr on September 23, 1974. Upon graduation from Farmington High School in 1992 he enlisted in the Navy serving a four year term. After his service and honorary discharge he moved back home to Farmington and enrolled into Mineral Area College. On completion of college he became a jack of all trades. He was determined to create a life of happiness on his own terms and in his own way. He worked in the capacity of Quality Control for several establishments, as a technician, and yes, even as a DJ. Wed be remiss not to remind the world, also, of his EXCEPTIONAL gaming skills and great taste in Halloween costuming...hed NEVER forgive us! Whether he was on the volleyball or basketball court, his infectious laughter could be heard. There wasnt a place where Joes presence couldnt be felt or a heart he hadnt touched. Joe was "that guy"... you know the one...you could call him if you had a flat, needed computer assistance, an ear to listen to, or a shoulder to cry on. He was a true friend to all. Many things can be said about his accomplishments but the one you wont hear from anyone on planet earth, is the utterance of a negative word about Joe. His life was ruled by two principles... "positivity" and "consistency". These two attributes fueled and shaped everything about him from his demeanor, treatment of others, attitude, work ethic, and overall character. We could all learn a thing or two about how to be better humans from his lifes example. Joe is survived by his mother, Vynetta Virginia Crider, father Joseph Ryland Crider Jr., Stepmother Thelma Barbeneaux Crider. His partner, Jamie Runnels and family; sisters Tiffany Smith, Karen Johnson and Sarahdawn Crider; his brothers, Jermaine Crider, Brandon Crider, Arsenio Crider, and Vincent Crider. He leaves behind nieces and nephews, Vynetta Crider, Asha Walker, China Crider, Ty-Tanisha Crider, Rael Walker, Jermaine Crider Jr., Ariyon Crider, Khari Johnson, Dyani Johnson, Skylar Crider and Summer Crider. In addition he leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and an absolutely BATTALION of FRIENDS. In the infamous words of Joe, "see what had happened was..." Well see you on the other side buddy! A walk-by memorial will be held at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Friday, April 24, 2020 from 4 6 p.m. at the front of the funeral home.
