Joseph Charles Pipkin

Joseph Charles "Joe" Pipkin of Farmington passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, at the age of 86 years, 10 months and 25 days. He was born on July 15, 1924, in Howe, TX, son of the late Edward David and Hattie Elizabeth (Alexander) Pipkin. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Lee Opal (East) Pipkin and an infant son, Tommy Joe. Also preceding him in death were a brother, Russell Pipkin and a sister, Faye Parker. Joe was the owner of Green's Hatchery in Farmington and later was employed by the State of Missouri. Joseph is survived by a son, Robert Charles Pipkin of Farmington and a daughter, Freda Sue (Mrs. Richard) Meinking of Colorado Springs, CO; a sister, Edith Tawfall and nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 12. Visitation will resume Monday from 7 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Pastor James King officiating. Interment will be at Marcus Memorial Cemetery in Fredericktown. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran School Building Fund.
