John 'Steve' Stephen Swink

LIBERTYVILLE John "Steve" Stephen Swink, of Libertyville, entered into eternal rest on November 8, 2022, at Parkland Health Center surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 76. He was born in Farmington on November 10, 1945, to the late John E. and Norma (Watson) Swink. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Peppers, his brother, David Swink and his brother-in-law, Larry Whitener. Steve is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carolyn (Scott) Swink, his daughters, Pam (Kevin) Detring of Dallas, GA, Mary (Doug) Eaves of Ellsinore, MO, and Amy (Tim) Ferguson of Bentonville, AR, his grandchildren, Jessica (Jon) Loughary, Stephen (Lindsey) Peppers, Christopher Detring, Cara (Carlos) Fernandez, Cayla Detring, Jonathan Eaves, Faith (Cody) Stucker, Brooke (Lee) Hampton, Clay (Sarah) Ferguson, Carter (MaryClaire) Ferguson, and Chase Ferguson, his great grandchildren, Brody Loughary, Tenley Loughary, Easton Loughary, Hudson Stucker, Hayden Stucker, Leyton Stucker, Blair Hampton, and Everly Ferguson, his sisters, Lee Ann Thornton of Farmington and Judy Whitener of Farmington, his son-in-law, Martin Peppers of Bonne Terre, his sister-in-law, Traci Swink of Spokane, WA, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Steve worked for Ameren UE and retired after thirty plus years of employment. He was a faithful Christian and a member and deacon for Grace Community Church which is now Cobalt Village General Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time on his cattle farm, hunting, fishing, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Steve will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Visitation will resume on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel. Interment to follow at Libertyville Methodist Cemetery.
