John Richard Hunt

LAWSON " John Richard Hunt, formerly of Farmington, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at the age of 75 years, in Kansas City, MO. He was born on June 28, 1936, in Arcadia, the son of the late Gladys (Richards) and Giles K. Hunt. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 38 years, Mary Louise (Elders) Hunt, and a grandson, Christopher Dean Parker. John attended Cincinnati Military Academy in Ohio. He has received many medals including the Eagle Eye Marksmanship. He excelled at playing the trumpet at the Academy and later in life he went on to play in the Letter Carriers Band where he played 2nd chair. John was an avid gun collector and outdoorsman. His true passion in life was his family. He was loved by everyone who knew him. His memories will be in our hearts forever. He is survived by his brother, Giles K. Hunt Jr. and wife Juanita Hunt, a daughter, Debra S. Parker and husband Ted R. Parker, a son, Kenneth E. Sales and wife Lisa C. Sales and grandchildren, Tony, Derek, Samantha, Jamie, Beth, Danielle, Christina, John, Dalton, and Kaytlen and three great-grandchildren, Jasia, Declan and June. Other relatives and friends also survive. The family will receive friends at Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, February 4. Visitation will resume on Sunday at 12 p.m. noon, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Revelle Cemetery in Cherokee Pass.
