STE. GENEVIEVE Johns Osro Adams, Jr. of Ste. Genevieve passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Riverview at the Park Care and Rehabilitation Center in Ste. Genevieve. At the age of 87 years. He was born May 20, 1929 at Avon son of the late John Osban and Genevieve Douglas (Boyd) Adams. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Georgia Lee (Miller) Adams, a daughter Brenda Preston, brothers Glen Adams and Paul Adams and a sister Lena Bloom.
John proudly served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force. He was retired from the Southeast Mental Health Center where he had been an Automotive Transportation Driver. He was a member of the St. Francois Masonic Lodge #234 of Libertyville, American Legion Post #150 of Ste. Genevieve and the Coffman Baptist Church where he also served as a Deacon for many years.
He is survived by six children, Linda Boyer of Farmington, Vicki (& Lowell) Fox of Farmington, Neal (& Elvina) Adams of Ste. Genevieve, John (& Peggy) Adams of Ste. Genevieve, Milton (& Joyce) Adams of Farmington, and Burton (& Tammy) Adams of Farmington; son-in-law Darrell Preston of St. Mary, three brothers Bob Adams of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Thomas "Jett" Adams of Troy, Texas, and Pat Adams of Fulton, a sister Bonnie Miner of Imperial, 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson as well as numerous other relatives, dear friends and neighbors.
Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Sunday, October 2, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday beginning at 7 a.m. until the time of the service at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with the Reverend Gerald McBride officiating. The funeral procession will be led by the Lead Belt Patriot Guard Riders to Saline Cemetery at Minith for interment with full military honors. Memorials, if desired may be made to the Brenda Preston Memorial Scholarship Fund. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory.
