John Lincoln Yeager

February 12, 1927 — August 1, 2015

John Yeager was born February 12, 1927 in Farmington, Missouri, the middle child of three children born to the union of the late Henrietta and William Yeager. Two siblings, William Kenneth Yeager and Marcia Ann Starks; two children, Janice Yeager and Ronald Dwayne Yeager; one grandson, Wade Ellis Finch, preceeded him in death. John attended grammar school, lead by Miss Daisy Baker, until eighth grade in Farmington. Upon graduation he began studies at Douglas High School in Festus, Missouri. He accepted Christ in his life at an early age at First Baptist Church in Farmington. He was a lifetime member of the Farmington Masonic Lodge. He confessed his love and married the late Josephine Evelyn Yeager. Six children, two sons and four daughters, Ronald Dwayne, John Wayne, Sandra Kay, Paula Jean, Angela Marie and Kathryn Lynn, commenced from this union. He often expressed his love for cars, and began working for Wickman Lincoln Motor Company. His lifetime career in the auto industry led him to move to Indianapolis, Indiana where he continued his automotive trade at Tatwaller Cadillac. He worked there for several years before deciding to return to Farmington. He continued his work for Wickman Lincoln Motor Company where he later retired. John enjoyed fishing, playing pool, listening to music and reminiscing with family and friends, especially Warren Gray and Ivan Riley. His health started to fail in 2005 which led him to his final move to Saint Louis with his daughter, Sandra, Here illness would not hold him back from his daily walks and exercise at the North County YMCA, where he became well known. After ten years of battling illness, John departed this life on Saturday, August 1, 2015, surrounded with love, peace and tender care from his family. He leaves to cherish, his children, John Wayne Yeager, Sandra Kay Lee (John), Paula Jean Blake (Howard), Angela Marie Smith (Justin), and Kathryn Lynn Pierce (the late Keith); twenty three grandchildren; two special nieces, Sharon Fears ad Satonia Yeager; five nephews; and a host of great grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 from 11 until 1 p.m. followed by a graveside service at 1:30 at Farmington Masonic Cemetery North with Brother James Parker officiating.
