John Gentry

FARMINGTON - John Thomas Gentry of Farmington, passed away at Southbrook Skilled Nursing on May 13, 2021 at the age of 77. He was born January 5, 1944 in Leadwood to the late John Gentry and Bernice (Marler) Gentry. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Gentry. John graduated high school from Leadwood and went on to proudly serve in the United States Army in Vietnam. For thirty-five years John worked for Doe Run Mining as a machinist. He was an outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. His family will remember his kind and generous nature and that he was just an all around good guy who loved being with family. Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Cheryl (Cunningham) Gentry; a step daughter, Loretta Lynn Dunn of Canada; a special granddaughter, Katohna Wisdom; four more grandchildren who live in Canada and sisters, Mary Ann Gentry and Sally Gentry.
