John Edward "Jd" Danieley

John Edward "JD" Danieley of Farmington, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2014, at the age of 61 years. He was born on May 12, 1952, in St. Louis, MO, son of the late Robert Danieley and Lauretta Pace Phillips. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved paternal grandmother who raised him, Blanche Maxwell. JD grew up in the Flat River area before moving to Farmington. A 1970 graduate of Central High School, JD went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree from Southeast Missouri University. He proudly served his country during the the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War from 1971 through 1973. He was Director of Social Services for the State of Missouri working in local counties throughout a period of twenty-five years. In 2004 he retired and enjoyed volunteering at the Farmington VFW and also worked part time at the Farmington Children's Home. During his life he performed with a band and continued playing guitar and writing music. Camping with his sons was a favorite pastime. He was also an accomplished cook who could fix up a mess of great French fries. He will be remembered as a family man who was always there to participate in his children's activities while they were growing up. Survivors include his five children, Jonathan, Jena Lou, Jessica, Jacob and Joseph; six grandchildren, Savannah, Lilian, Jonathan, Lucille, Kaylee and Ruby; a sister, Karen and a brother, Bill. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Monday evening, February 24, 2014 from 5 - 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday morning beginning at 7 a.m. until the time of the service at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 2 p.m. Memorials may be given in JD's name to Serenity Hospice.
