Joel Burgess

FARMINGTON William "Joel" Burgess, beloved son of Janis and the late William "Joey" Burgess passed away at his residence in Farmington on September 1, 2022 at the age of 41. He was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents, Paul and Helen Black of Bismarck and Leanna and Frank Burgess of Farmington. Several aunts and uncles, cousins and friends who poured so much love into his life have preceded him as well. His father was the most impactful of all who have passed. Joel is survived by his four precious children, Lily, William, Isabelle and Helen; four brothers, Bret (Alycia) Burgess and Paul Ryan "PR" Burgess, both of Farmington; Matthew (Jessica) Burgess of Ennis, MT and Scott (Kristin) Childress of Tampa, FL and a sister, Emily (Danny) Buchheit of Kirkwood, MO; three special aunts and two uncles also survive including multiple cousins and friends. Joel was deeply loved. His first passion was for his children. His music was important as he was a fine guitarist and composed for acoustic guitar. Joel had a very nice singing voice as well. Recently he and a friend began a taxi service. Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Cozean Memorial Chapel beginning at 1 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. officiated by Pastor Brad LaBreyere.
