Joann Thebeau

FARMINGTON – JoAnn Thebeau, of Farmington, entered eternal rest on October 27, 2024, at Parkland Health Center at the age of 89. She was born January 17, 1935, in Humeston, Iowa, to the late Louis and Shirley (Hart) Barton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Edward Thebeau, her sister, Donna Scott, and her brother, Jerry Barton.

JoAnn is survived by her children, Mike (Brenda West) Thebeau of Farmington, Terri (John) Edney of Hardeeville, SC, Susie (Doug Blanford) Rohrer of Farmington, Steve (Cheri) Thebeau of Davidson, NC, and Joan (Marc) Sanders of Naples, FL, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren, along with many other family members and friends.

JoAnn retired from the De Soto School District after 33 years where she worked as an elementary school teacher. Prior to that, she worked at St. Joachim School in Old Mines. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Farmington. She devoted her life to her entire family, always putting them first. She was extremely dedicated to her children and grandchildren, always taking the time to attend their events and sports games. JoAnn enjoyed playing cards, shopping and traveling abroad, especially with her family. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.

Friends may call on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Visitation will resume on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 10 North Long Street, Farmington with Father William Thess as celebrant.
