Joan J. Seers

STE. GENEVIEVE - Joan J. Seers of Ste. Genevieve passed away at the Arbors at Parkwood Meadows in Ste. Genevieve on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at the age of 86. She was born September 26, 1932 in St. Louis to the late William and Mary Ann (Schmitt) Goeke. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Seers in 2001; a son, Phillip Seers in 2006 and by all of her six siblings. Joan was a loving and devoted mother, wife and grandmother. She was an athletic person who enjoyed playing tennis and bowling. Spending time in the outdoors, sewing and playing cards with friends were some of her favorite pastimes. She never met a stranger and had many friends. She was a long time member of Ste. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in Coffman. She also volunteered at the hospital and delivered Meals on Wheels. When her children were young the Seers family lived in St. Louis where Joan enjoyed volunteering at the Fox Theatre and Shaw Garden. Survivors are her children, Cindy Coffelt and husband, Gene of the state of Arizona, Jeffrey Seers and wife, Debbie of Farmington and Peggy Adams and husband, John of Coffman; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; special niece, Barb Guidici and husband, George and a host of friends and extended family. A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Ste. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with Father William Thess officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Ste.
