Joan Faye Propst

FARMINGTON Joan Faye Propst of Ste. Genevieve County, passed away at her home on October 6, 2021, at the age of 77. She was born at Bonne Terre on February 17, 1944, to the late George Hughes and Alice (Frye) Hughes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Propst; daughter, Darla Leitz and brother, Gary Hughes. Joan was a lifelong homemaker who enjoyed raising her family and tending to her animals, especially her birds, her dogs, Sophie, Marley and her grandpups, Holly and Hershey. She loved fishing and playing cards with family while blasting old time country music from her stereo. Survivors include her children, Rick (Susan) Leitz, Angie Leitz and Donald Lee Owens; grandchildren, Rocky Leitz, Heather Leitz, Jordan Owens, Amber Owens and Breanna Owens; great-grandchildren, Gage Leitz, Kolton Leitz, Easton Mowder, Bryce Mowder, Caroline, Kaiden and Kenzie Scales; great-great grandchildren, Jaice Leitz and Adaline Leitz; a sister, Mary Ann (Gary) Pulliam; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their special gratitude to Serenity Hospice Care. A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Genevieve Baptist Cemetery at 10 a.m. with Rev.
